Lyman S. Williams to Warren Williams
Primary tabs
I take this opportunity to write a few lines to you. I am well and enjoy soldiers
life very well so far plenty to eat and that which is good. We organised our
company this after noon and elected officers. Cap- W. Haselton, 1st Lieu. W.
Reynolds of Clochester, 2nd Lt. E. Kinny 1st Serj. E Holten 2nd Fletcher 3rd
Macomber, 4th Williams 5th Holton &c - I am appointed 4th Serj. but on account
of some hard feelings I think that I shall take the place
of
Corporal in the place of Brownell and he will take my place. We were sworn in
this evening but we are not examined untill morning. We expect to start Thursday
morning for the south, so perhaps you had better come up here on Wednesday if
you come at all.
