Wheelock G. Veazey to Julia A. Veazey
Primary tabs
It is late but I must write a few words. Proctor & I are ordered to be ready
to move at notice, it is intimated to Harpers Ferry. We are to go on a review
tomorrow, unless ordered forward before. We want to go to Texas with Genl. Banks
if he goes there. My own angel I would be so glad to see you to-night. Why cant
I? Hope I shall dream about you. Am feeling perfectly well, and I want my own
wife in my arms Am rejoiced that you are feeling better. Hope you wont be sick
any more until the time for that baby. What an idea that my little wife should
have a baby. Are you sure you will have one?
I’ll bet you will be
disappointed & have been unnecessarily anxious. But if you do, you must have
a good one or I shall not own him. Have you told your Mother? Am sorry she is so
tired. What does Lucy say? Are you going to Vt again. I should like to go there
or any where else with you now. I was too slim to treat
you well last summer, but you would not complain now. My own sweet wife, I do
worship you. My darling darling love. Do you love me as you used to. Write me
real often & very affectionate sort of letters. I enjoy those some times. I
must go to bed, we have got to start early to-morrow morn. I wish I had my own
sweet darling perfect wife to go with me. Good night my own love
