Rejoice with me that we have not got to move. The orders came yesterday that we are to remain here for the present, at least, and you may believe that we were a happy set of fellows

Yesterday we had the greatest storm of rain I ever saw, and we all offered up heartfelt thanks to the rules of the universe that we were not exposed to its [       ] furious over the march.

I have no news of importance, nor have I anything particular to say except we expect the pay master here in a day or two.

I am about starting to visit the Right wing, and when I return I have to go to the left which will give me about 20 miles ride between now and night, it being [        ] now. This will explain my breoity. I thought I must let you know of our good luck.
