Roswell Farnham to Mary [Farnham]
Primary tabs
I send one letter by Capt. Stearns to you, but for fear that you may not receive it in season I write a line also by the Chaplain.
Mr. Dickinson will not get into the city till nearly 6 o'clk & will have to start at 6-1/2, and I suppose you will not be ready. I hardly think you had better hurry off. Wait a few days & you will have just as good a chance. If you are all ready you may go along if you think best, still I wish you would stay a day or two at least.
I have told Stearns to tell Mr. Dickinson that if he is short of time not to call for you as you can wait.
Yours truly & affectionatelyRos.
P. S. I open this letter to say that neither the Chaplain nor Sutler are
going to Washington
today, but that you may not be altogether
disappointed I shall send Nelson to the Station to hand these letters to Mr.
Dickinson. He will probably see you if only for a moment.
Yours in
haste
Ros.
