Roswell Farnham to [Mary Farnham]
Primary tabs
The Adjt. talks of going in to Washington today, & if he does he wil see you all. I have written you once this morning by mail & directed it to Joy's Hotel Corner of 8th. & Penn Avenue. I shall direct your letters so until I hear from you again. Send out a line by the Adj't telling me how to direct to you. I am well this morning & am not quite so blue as I was yesterday. I was lonely enough I assure you after you was gone. Nelson moved the cot in here & I slept on the bedstead. I suppose you had not much time to be lonesome as you had company all the time.
You must take good care of yourself & I will see you as soon as I can. If I
do not see you & cannot send you any money for a few days you must borrow
some of Mrs. Nichols if she has any to spare. If she has none you must write to
Mr. Blodgett & he will
send you some. Let me know when you write
& I will write to him if necessary.
You had better look to your clothes & see that there are no vermin upon them as it is rather dangerous staying so long in camp. Look to my old coat & if infested throw it away.
Nelson sends love. Remember me to all the ladies. Direct as usual.
Yours most affectionatelyRos.
