We are here in the state of Vermont safe and sound and in a few days shall be at home. We have no idea now when we shall be mustered out, whether this week or next. Our time is out tonight and the boys will probably make a fuss if they cannot get out. I have no time to write much It is rainy and unpleasant and I wish we were at home. Charles Stevens and others from Bradford got here yesterday. We were glad to see them I assure you. Harry Worthen's wife came down yesterday & we shall not see him again here. We have had a nice journey so far & I hope we shall the rest of the way.

I should have written you yesterday, but we were busy pitching tent & I let the time slip by till it was too late.

P. S. You can judge better than I can, but I should think you had better not try to be out much at the time we come home. We shall march up by the house.
