I am glad to be able to say that the Captain seems to be improving, or at least is more comfortable, this A.M. The Dr. says that all that is required is patience and good nursing & I think he has the latter certainly. He is having a slow run of Billious fever & will have to let it take its course. We will do all in our power for him, & I think you need have no anxiety for him.

I think I told you that Mrs. Snow where he is quartered is the widow of a Methodist Preacher, & she will do all she can for his comfort. The Lladies of the city have been very kind to our sick. They visit us every day with delicacies and the poor fellows fare very well.

I will write you often as it is the Captains wish,
