I beg leave to introduce to you my brother, Mr Charles Marsh, who is still the occupant of the old family hive at Woodstock.
He is in Europe for the first time, and is somewhat out of health. I hope his journey will improve his condition in this respect, & indeed he seems to me to be now improving with reasonable rapidity.

friendly counsel, and as he is well posted as to all neighborhood Woodstock matters,
as well as in general American affairs, I hope he may be able to impart to you some
information on matters interesting to you

Charles Marsh (1821-1873), Marsh's youngest brother, maintained the family farm in Woodstock until his death. He and Marsh frequently corresponded about barometric pressure, precipitation, mountain heights, and other natural and meteorological phenomena
