Dear Powers
We returned this morning at 2 o'clock from a ten days' excursion, & I have just rece'vd yours of the 25. Aug. My visit to London is given up. I cannot, therefore, have the pleasure of a journey with Mrs Powers & yourself, which I should have much enjoyed.
Our house at Turin is under repair, & will not be ready for us for some
weeks, but we hope to be able to receive you in it, on your way back. In the mean
time we are living at a country
house, not far from a RR. Station 10 miles
west of Turin. If you will let me know, by telegram or otherwise, when you will be
here, I will manage to meet you, & Mrs M. will be delighted to have you both
come out & stay a night or more with us.
Having many letters to answer, I write in great haste, & am very truly yours
Geo. P Marsh
