Johnson, Vermont.Apr. 30, 1887.Dear Little Sister:-

I have not received my regular letter from home to-day, but I will write a few lines to you.

I have been to work, all day and to-night I am tired.

This week with all the rest our class have been getting up a reception. It came off quite nicely. I came off near waving a piece, but was so hoarse I did not dare to try it: but I had a short dialogue with one of the Allen girls. It was a regular burlesque & took tip-top. I was on as one of the committee of literary exercises & we had some quite jolly dialogues etc. There were quite a large number in and Newcomb, & Miss Beacher, Mr. Hill & I were "introduction committee," to introduce those who were not a acquainted you know and also to see that they were entertained before our exercises began. We had a jolly time of it. I was dressed as an old lady of 40 yrs. ago in our dialogue, will tell you about it when I see you.

I have my B piece now I think, but I may change my mind before morning.

I have gots lots to tell you when I see you, but have not the tim to write.

Will send this little piece to you and please preserve it for me. I think the blind boy that is in school wrote it.

I suppose your school begins Mon. hope you will like her and I want you to try & get her to like you.
