Johnson, Vt.Apr. 23, 1887.Dear Papa:-

Mrs. Tracy spoke to me, last night, about my board bill. She pays $50.00 each of the months, May and Nov. for rent. she would like what she could have from us by the 20th of May.

Manage to get me through this term someway, and if I should fail to get help for another term, will not come back in Sept. but go to work at something, until I get enough to carry me here 20 weeks longer.

I intend to go to doing something at any rate as soon as school is out in June, that I may earn a little for myself, and

not give you at home so much trouble.

I have written to Miss. Barton. Received Carrie's letter this noon.

Yours,Katie.
