Katherine Fletcher to Henrietta Fletcher, 1886 December 7
Primary tabs
With joy I rec'd your letter yesterday; as to your date it should have been received before.
We think Miss. Goodsell is sick again, as she has not come as yet. I am getting along finely in my work, and have had some encouragement, for in my last Algebra Examination I got 100%. This is something to tell of as it has not happened but a few times in class before.
Two have failed in Graduating Class
Blanche Ervins, and Walter Heath.
She has gone to her home in North Troy and Mr. Heath has gone to Montpelier to
attend school.
I went to Copeland's Lecture Fri. night but was not carried away with it as some were, for I did not enjoy it as well as the one last one.
There is to be another lecture Fri. night. It is a humerous one, called Chalk Talk. Have forgotten the speaker's name.
There have two more new scholars come in to-day. Misses Beale and Ban, of Hardwick.
Nida George came to stay here after school until seven last night to see me. She stayed to supper.
I do not know when I shall come home. Next week Fri. night, the D Class give a
reception, called "The Whittier's Reception" in honor of the birthday of
Whittier & I shall not want
to miss that.
In regard to the news youcannot write any more now have not time.
