10. P.M.Dear Mamma:-
I rec'd. you letter and also a letter from Bertie B. to-day. It is getting quite
late but I wanted to send you a letter to-morrow night, and am afraid I shall
not if I do not write it now. I shall write to Mrs. G. to-morrow and let her
know that I cannot take that piece.
I have got all my lessons to-night
except history but I can get that to-morrow. I have done better to night
studying than I did last night for last night I sit up until twelve; so this
after-noon when I came home from school I could hardly keep awake it was after
three and so I thought I would camp down a few moments, then get right up and go
to work. Well, do you know, I did. a while after that I woke up. It was as dark
as pitch, I was pretty well startled
when I found that out. I thought
it was morning as much as could be. I lit a light and light &
found it was only about six. You may believe I was thankful. after a while I
thought about supper and went down. They all thought I had been out calling. But
it seems I had n't don't it?
I was sorry Carrie was sick, for it seems as though you had about enough to tend to. I went down to Aunt Ellas Sunday night and found Jerry's folks there. She has done a little on her [touque].
What number is Uncle Ed's box? I did not think to find out. the B's reception is Fri. night. Examination Thurs. in Algebra. I was 89 in my last Physiology. Well, I must close, Write to me often. And for all that I have things about me so pleasant, and could not ask for anything different it seems a good deal nicer to have you write occasionially. Why don't Carrie write to me?
