I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines I rec- your kind letter Friday was glad to hear from you There is Considerable excitement in town to night they have arested 6 or 8 Persons to day and are holding them in custody till they give an account of themselves I am afraid they will burn this place before spring they threaten pretty hard now You may expect to see me about New Years if nothing happens more than I now of now
I shall have to go to school when I came to [Westford][ ] see what [advance] he will
make I think that Mr Fields
is a verry nice young man indeed am glad
they have hired so good one
I cannot come home before Christmas because I want to go to Mass Meeting that night there is more fun here in one week than these is in Waterville in one year I will bring home that Testament it will cost me 2.00 but you could not get it less than 2.50 it [ ] and notes & [ ]
