My dear Sir:
I suppose you are not yet out
of the hands of the Philistines, but I hope the
Boycott on farmer students was less than what
you feared it might be. I found the appro-
priation for the first year had been trans-
mitted to Vermont and, as I have not learned
to the contrary, I suppose it must have
been paid over to the Vt. U. & State Ag. Coll.
Upon looking over the Legislative Acts of the
Last Session, I did not find any acceptance
on the part of the Vt. Legislature of 1890 act
of Congress, and I much feared that our

new Governor and Treasurer would hold that
this was necessary before they would transfer
the amount received. I have not mentioned
the point, but they could undoubtedly have
made trouble had they been so disposed.
How many Freshman have you this year?
Wishing you all the compliments
of the season, Very truly yours
Justin S. Morrill
Prest. M. H. Buckham,
Burlington, Vt.
