I had no other way to celebrate the “glorious fourth of July” so have kept at home all day in my tent and have written a good letter to sister Katie and one to Eli – it is now nine oclock but I could not go to bed without saying just one little word to my darling if I did write you yesterday. We are still resting in camp and our boys all well – if all is quite tomorrow will write

you a good letter I have written so much to day that it makes my finger ache so will say good night darling one. Oh! if I could only give you a good kiss with it.
