My friend Mr. Isaac Jones, of my county who has been uniformly a good Union man and who has in his possession a protection from General Butler, desires to regain possession of some of his property now lead by the government troops. The property is 2 negro boys, 4 horses, and a mule and 4 setts of harness. Without this property, he cannot carry on his farm, and will lose his crops.

You will greatly save a good man, and you will greatly oblige me by letting nine have a part or the whole.

I am very respectfully your friend and serventJos Segar
