Dear Mr Marsh.

Yours of the 10 is to hand; & I am happy to announce the arrival of the box of beads. The total cost, which has been $30, we consider very reasonable. The collection will be of great service to us in our ethnological comparisons.

We are getting along pretty well with the exception of Mrs Baird, who has been sick for some time past; but I hope she is now somewhat better.

Yours Sincerely.Spencer F. BairdHon. George P. Marsh.U.S. MinisterRome,Italy.
