In a box which I dispatched to the State Department tonight, I send [...] I, II, III of the Bulletino Archeologico, all yet issued for to present year, for Lucy.
Luigi Bombicci, an eminent mineralogist, has sent me his new
, very handsomely got up, in three large profusely
illustrated, octavio vols. He wants, and I want for his sake, this book
noticed in some American Scientific journal.
If I send it
to the Smithsonian, would it be properly reviewed by some competent person and a
copy of the article forwarded to me, or had I better make some other disposal of it?
