A layer of approximately three-quarters (3/4) of an inch of washed sand was spread over the entire surface and kept moist for one week with the aid of the asphalt distributor which was used for applying the water. This view shows the curb and gutter construction of Staniford Road looking westerly near the intersection of the proposed street leading into the George Reynolds property at No. 148 Staniford. The intersection can be seen between the two houses. Note the amount of filling necessary to bring the center of the roadway up to the proper grade. The work on the northerly side of the street was completed in Nov. 1941. A special appropriation of $4100.00 was made for the construction, $500.00 of which was for street grading. Work done by Burlington Street Dept.
