Show moreMarch 13, 1940. Intersection of North Street and North Winooski Avenue. This view shows the style of new street signs just erected on North Street from North Winooski Avenue to North Avenue. These signs were designed, constructed and erected by Street Department employees during the winter months. The name plates were purchased from the Lyle Signs Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota. There were seventeen of these signs constructed and erected on this street. The street lamp posts have spites projecting out from them to aid workmen climbing up. Retail stores and businesses include the The Silver Star Restaurant at 202 North. Grand Union in-between the Silver Star and Mazel's that is at 194 North. Dentist office above the Silver Star.
