route, support riders and set up the
event. We need EMT's or certified
First Aid folks. We also need riders
to cycle along the beautiful routes

Executive Director

Speakout is seeking a highly-moti-
vated, dynamic Executive Director
with energy and vision to lead the
organization to new levels of effec-
tiveness and visibility. The
Executive Director, a new position
at SpeakOut, will report to a volun-
teer Board of Directors.
Responsibilities: Directs and man-
ages the Speakout office, includ-
ing supervision and evaluation of
staff, interns, and volunteers.
Administers ongoing programs in
support of the organization's mis-
sion, including outreach and

 

scheduling of speaking engage-
ments, the Fall Forum speaker
training, and the Governor’s
Commission Youth SpeakOut
Project. Works closely with the
Board of Directors and Treasurer
to develop and manage the
approximately $100,000 annual
budget. Monitors and manages the
organization’s fiscal affairs, includ-
ing cash flow, bookkeeping, pay-
roll, and all local, state and federal
tax regulations and other financial
obligations. Devises organizational
development strategy, including
grant writing, corporate sponsor-
ship, and fund-raising campaigns
and events. Designs and imple-
ments an external relations strate-
gy to strengthen SpeakOut’s iden-
tity and visibility in the media and
community at large. Develops
efforts to engage and support vol-
unteer members through member
activities, newsletters, and oppor-
tunities for continuing education.

England and New York will get together in Vermont for
Champ Ride 2000. This is Vermont CARES’ 2nd Annual Bike
Ride to raise critically needed funds to continue prevention
education and direct services for people living with,

or at high risk of, HIV/AIDS.

The ride is a l0/25/50/1 00-mile ride. Everyone can
participate, no matter what your cycling ability.
This is a great event for both the novice and avid

Vermont's beautiful country landscape.

itself, making a generous donation in support of other
cyclists, or volunteering on the day of the event.
