viding services to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgen-
dered and questioning youth. We are seekIng_a
dynamic individual to join with the Board of Directors
and staff to lead the organization in carrying out its’
vision/mission of edupation, outreach and service.
The chief responsibility of the Executive Director is
to provide solid leadership to a two-person staff and
sixteen-person Board in the areas of fund raising,
strategic planning, financial management, communi-
ty visibility/collaboration, and staff management.
The incumbent will have demonstrated leadership
ability, and successful grant writing experience
along with a keen understanding of the issues facing
GLBTQ Youth. Experience working with a Board of
Directors is highly desirable. Minimum requirements
include a Bachelor degree in related field; Master's
degree preferred.

Web Consultant & Trainer. Mountain Pride Media
seeks an individual to serve as Web Consultant &
Trainer for a one-year grant-funded project. The indi-
vidual must be willing to volunteer approximately
150 hours over the next 12 months. A modest
stipend will be provided.

I The Web Consultant 8. Trainer will work as a
consultant, on behalf of MPM, with three partner
agencies (VT Cares, Outright Vermont, and VCLGR)
that expect to improve their online presence as a
result of this grant-funded effort. The Web-
Consultant should be interested in managing this
outreach effort, helping these agencies evaluate the
current status of their websites, identifying achiev-
able goals for improving their websites, and working
with their designates to reach these goals by provid-
ing tech support and training as needed. Finally, the
Web Consultant will help Mountain Pride Media in
the reporting process for the grant.

The ideal candidate should have some experi-
ence with web design and enjoy working with peo-

AIDS Project,s Gay & Bisexual Men's Program
Coordinator. The Brattleboro Area AIDS Project, a
small, rural AIDS service organization serving south-
ern Vermont, is looking for an energetic and enthu-
siastic individual to coordinate the Project's Gay &
Bisexual Men's Program, a community-based HIV
prevention program targeting the region's gay,

bisexual and other men who have sex with men
(MSM). This is a full-time position with benefits. The

Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission
(IGLHRC) documents, monitors, and’ mobilizes
responses to human rights violations based upon
sexual orientation, gender identity, and HIV status.
The HIV Program Coordinator is a new position. The
person hired will oversee our HIV work and help set
priorities and goals in health-and-human-rights
issues for the whole organization. The‘ Coordinator
will be responsible for: conducting international
advocacy on HIV issues; researching HIV- and
AIDS-related violations and abuse; developing
IGLHRC policies to address the right to health and
related questions; and strategizing with and assist-
ing local HIV and PWA groups.

Job Description: 1. Coordinate international advoca-
cy work related to HIV/AIDS; continue existing pro-
jects on access-to-treatment issues, as well as con-
fidentiality and anonymity, availability of information,
and discrimination and stigmatization, among other
pressing concerns. 2. Establish and sustain relation-
ships with groups working on HIV, access-to-treat-
ment, and right-to-health issues, nationally and
worldwide. 3. Act as liaison with governmental and
intergovermental groups on HIV/AIDS issues. 4.
Field requests for information from media, col-
leagues, supporters and policy makers. 5. Research
and document a wide range of human-rights viola-
tions based on HIV/AIDS, as well as other violations
of fundamental rights including the right to health;
write emergency action alerts on HIV-related issues.
6. Work with other staff in developing policies on HIV
issues, refining documentation on abuses, and
developing strategies of response; recruit, train, and
coordinate interns and volunteers to work with exist-
ing research and advocacy activities. 7. Represent
organization at conferences, meetings and other
activities with local, national and international orga-
nizations. Promote organization's activities. Prepare
public presentations, position papers and articles.
Misc. Duties: Assist with and oversee administrative
functions in the office. Frequent travel.

The position is based in our New York office. In
your cover letter, please specifically address your
qualifications in the following areas: Experience with
and interest in HIV/AIDS communities and move-
ments, and/or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or
other activism. Understanding of and commitment to
anti-imperialist philosophies and practices, and
understanding of global inequities. Experience with
working in an international arena. A background in
grassroots and/or political organizing. Excellent writ-
ten and oral communication skills in English, and flu-
ency in Spanish and/or French. Overall excellence
in time-management; ability to work under pressure
and in a multi-racial and -cultural workplace.

Minimum Qualifications: Written and verbal flu-
ency in English. Computer proficiency.
Demonstrable experience in community-based polit-
ical organizing. Strong interpersonal and facilitation
skills. Excellent written and analytical skills. Public
speaking abilities. Familiarity with basic aspects of
human-rights activism and approaches. Excellent
time management skills and ability to work under
pressure and in multi-racial, multi-cultural work-
place. Volunteer management experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Significant expertise in
analyzing HIV/AIDS-related issues from a public-
health and/or human-rights perspective. Previous
experience in international arenas. Written and ver-
bal fluency in French and/or Spanish. Familiarity
with FileMaker Pro, e-mail, MSWord software.
