for a show on October 9. Steph Pappas, who is a
— nationally renowned goddess of the guitar, and The
Therapy Sisters, who create beautiful folk music with
- an incredibly precise sense of humor, digging at our
lovely patriarchy and all of its bizarre twists and
inconsistencies join Wishing Chair who are a melting
pot of folk, roots rock, country, Celtic, and world music
with poetic lyrics. Don’t miss these guys, and if you
. haven’t heard Steph yet, what are you waiting for?

A ENOUGH ROPE?

The Loeb Leopold murder in 1924 was the
Menedez brothers of the times. A nation was
horrified as it was revealed two lovers killed a
child for the sheer sake of pulling off the perfect
crime. The association of homosexuality with
homicide has persisted ever since. The film Hope
was loosely based on the murder, with the two
protagonists sharing an apartment and an
extremely ambiguous relationship; a good
example of how Hollywood would more easily
explore murder than it would same sex love. The
Theater Factory takes on a stage production of
Hopeon the 50th anniversary of the films release.

Central Vermont’s Art Resource Association will be holding
a show at The Fletcher Free Library from October 2nd through
October 30th. The reception will be on October 11th from 3
to 5 PM and the show will include many of the organizations
members such as Eva Schectman, who created “Gesture
Series l; Spring" shown here from Charcoal on newsprint.
