FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 8:00pm PRIDE KICK-OFF CONCERT DAVE IMLL & IQIIHEREVE QUINN St. Paul's Cathedral Cherry and Battery Streets, Burlington, $7 Vermont native Dave Hall returns to his roots to perform a benefit concert for Vennont Pride '98. Since moving to New York City, Hall's received notice from Billboard Magazine ("natu- ral breakout potential"), OUTmagazine ("strong'n'comfy vocals" and "all aglow with the sweetness of ordinary experience") and also wide playing time on college and alternative music stations. Gay and out, Dave's music is informed by the perspective of his sexual identity without being defined by it. But his "Zoe and Chloe" tells the sad tale of a lesbian couple "struck down in their prime and pride / By some redneck crackers with the world on their side." Opening up the evening will be Katherine Quinn. Seven Days says, "Katherine Quinn is a folksy chanteuse who'll give you a real estrogen lift." She paints landscapes with her words and leads the audience through them with her vocals. "Funked up Folk" could also be used to describe Quinn. This evening's entertainment will not only kick-off Pride Weekend, but will also help raise funds topay for many activities planned. Thank you for your support. '98!!!
