Out in the Mountains “Flaming Senses” On Display in Capitol Detail from the multimedia installation ”'Ihis is Our Bed” by Steven Dunning. MONTPELIE -- “Flaming Senses,” a nationally touring gay art exhibit, will be on view at Vermont College’s T.W. Wood Gallery and Art Center throughout the entire month of May. An opening reception will be held at the gallery on Friday, May 3, from 5-8 :00 p.m. Utilizing a multi-media approach, the exhibit expresses the political and sexual concerns of gay men while leaving doors of interpretation open for other layers of meaning and appreciation. The show explores a stream of thought and action pertinent to the political and moral examination going on in the world today. In one of the works, “This is Our Bed” by Manchester Center artist Steven Dunning, a variety of objects are combined with a projected videotape to convey a sense of the culture of hostility that gay men experience. “Flaming Senses” has traveled to several colleges and universities across the United States. Viewing hours will be fi'om 12-4:00 p.m. daily except for Mondays, when the gallery is closed. The gallery is located on the first floor of College Hall. Due to the ex11ibit’s explicit nature, mature audiences only are invited to visit.
