l Obituaries Robert W. Mundstock, 45, died Oc- tober ll, 1992 at home following com- plications from AIDS. Bob was the artist-owner of Monarch Studios. A former candlemaker and high school art teacher, he was known locally as an oil painter of Vermont landscapes and a stained glass designer. Bob was a member of the Board of Directors of the Artisans’ Hand Craft Cooperative in Montpelier until his death. He was also a founder of Vermont C.A.R.E.S., the first AIDS service organization in Vermont; a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Health Center in Burlington, serving as President from 1980-1982; a founder of the Mansfield Bucks; a founder and logo designer of the state- wide newsletter Out in the Mountains; and for nine years led bicycle tours in England, California, and New England as a senior leader for the Vermont Bi- cycling Touring Company in Bristol. Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 13, 1947, and attended the Uni- versity of Arkansas, Fayetteville, re- ceiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1970. His quick wit and love of life will be missed by his mother, Margaret (Peg) Mundstock of Montpe- lier; three sisters, Peg Carlson of Salem, WI, Kathy Redmond of Antioch, IL, and Tina Starfire of Worland, NY; two niec- es; a nephew; and numerous other rel- atives and friends. A memorial service was held on Tues- day, October 20th at the Unitarian Uni- versalist Church of Montpelier.
