Senator Patrick Leahy
announces co-sponsorship of
Federal Civil Rights Bill.

On June 23th, after this issue of Out in the Mountains went to press, Sen-
ator Leahy signed on as the newest co-sponsor of the Federal Anti-
Discrimination bill. Senator Leahy joins 16 other senators and 107 mem-
bers of the House of Representatives, including Rep. Bernard Sanders (I-
VT), in co-sponsoring the bill. -

Governor Dean
Endorses Howard Russell

Saturday June 20 Governor, Howard Dean, announced his support of the
Senate candidacy of Democrat, Howard Russell. Russell, an openly gay
candidate, is running for one of the six state senate seats from Chittenden
County.
