He was 40 years old. In addition to his work for OUT/LOOK, Peter ran his own company, Media/Design, which designed direct-mail fund rais- ing packages for such groups as Human Rights Watch, The Environmental Defense Fund, Nicaragua Network, and Jesse Jackson’s 1988 presidential campaign. Peter leaves his longtime partner, David Jemigan, and other friends and family members. (OUT /LOOK) V Louis Tesconi, Founder of Damien Ministries Louis Joseph Tesconi, founder and president of Washington D.C.’s Catholic AIDS support and service organization, died on November 27, 1991, in Washington D.C. Tesconi, a native of Rutland, Vermont, graduated from the University of Ver- mont in 1971. After graduating from law school he practiced law in New York City and Houston, Texas until 1986. Tesconi moved to Washington D.C. in 1986 to attend seminary. He left the seminary later that year and founded Damien Ministries, serving as executive director until last July and as president until his death. Mary Clark of Damien Ministries said Tesconi helped people with AIDS “confront the ultimate issues in life. He gave the religious community a model with which to re- spond to AlDS...a set of symbols.” Survivors include his parents, Mildred and Charles Tesconi of Rutland; and two brothers, Charles of Washington, D.C. and Ernest of Montvale, New Jersey. A private mass was held on November 29 in the Damien Ministries chapel and a memorial service was held on December 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Washington D.C.
