The Vermont Coalition for Lesbian & Gay Rights announces A Three Part Series of Community Meetings via VERMONT INTERACTIVE TELEVISION WHEN: Friday, February 24 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 24 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, April 28 6:30-8:30 p.m. WHERE: VIT sites in: JOIN US ON TV! Bennington Brattleboro Randolph Center Rutland St. Johnsbury South Burlington Waterbury (see reverse for VIT site addresses) TOPICS: February: Gay Rights / Human Rights A look at political and legislative issues effecting the 1/ g/ b/t community at the local, state, and national levels. A disussion of VCLGR’s legislative agenda plus a look at the obstacles and opportunities presented by the recent elections and national political climate. March: The Hills Are Alive A look at our lives as expressed through the unique contributions we've made to art, C music, literature and history with a special focus on the l / g / b/t communities of Vermont. April: Family Issues An overview of current "family” issues such as adoption and child custody, plus the up- coming Hawaii gay marriage case. A discussion of the social, legal and religious issues raised by same sex marriage and how we as a community need to deal with this contro- versial topic both within our own community and within society at large. Whatever your personal views are on marriage, it's important for all of us to be aware of and understand the ramifications of this ground-breaking case. PLUS Each meeting will include announcements of upcoming state and local events, news of interest to our community, networking, and a chance to meet and talk with people from all around the state.
