Saturday December 4, 1993- promises to be a milestone in the history of Vermont’s les-
bian, gay, and bisexual community. On that date, the Vermont Coalition of Lesbians and
Gay Men (VCLGM) is sponsoring an all day conference at Vermont Technical College in
Randolph, Vermont. Entitled “Creating Community-Creating Change”, the day is de-
signed to be social, educational, political, and will mark the kick-off of a revitalized
VCLGM.

The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and refreshments. Events planned in-
clude a discussion of “gay marriages” featuring Paula Ettelbrick and a (at press time yet
unnamed) leader from the gay men’s community. Attorney Ettelbrick, formerly with
Lambda Legal Defense & Education Fund, currently works as Policy Director for the Na-
tional Center for Lesbian Rights. During the day a series of workshops are planned ad-
dressing issues including how to get domestic partner benefits at your company, Gay
Men’s health issues, domestic partnership legislation, Lesbian sex talk, youth issues,

adoption reform, and being gay, lesbian or bisexual in rural Vermont. Elections to the Co— ,

alition’s new sixteen member Board of Directors are also scheduled. Regional caucuses
will be held to identify and elect individual and organizational representatives and officers
to the Board.

Coming together as a community, seeing old friends, making new friends, celebrating
sexuality, and exploring the recent legislative and judicial victories made in Vermont will be a
large part of this event. Mark your calendar, tell your friends, and plan to be a part of creating
community and change on December 4, 1993.
