The A ALesbian Avengers, a direct action group committed to issues of lesbian survival and visibility, will be com- ing to Burlington as part of a campaign throughout New England to raise awareness of the strategies and goals of the Christian Right. The group's Northeast tour will culminate in Lewiston, Maine, where an anti- gay referendum—and the momentum behind it—has put lesbians and gay men there under seige. Thursday, October 14th 6:30 pm: Welcome Potluck dinner for the New York Avengers (Bring a dish.) 8:00 pm: Fight the Right Forum, featuring a showing of the video "Gay Rights, Special Rights," a divisive propaganda video produced by the Traditional Values Coalition. The Avengers will also be showing videos of some of their own actions, including demonstrations in Tampa, FL after a lesbian's house was firebombed, and the Dyke March in Washington, DC during the national March on Washington.
