While there is little we can do about the lines and waiting in Washington we can do something about ensuring our rights. As the theme of the 1993 March on Washington succinctly stated it is “A ‘Simple Matter of Justice”. In a recent ap pearance on the MacNei1/Lehrer News- hour, National Gay & Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) Director Torie Osborn stated that g/1/b issue debates need to be won not only in Congress and State Leg- islatures but also at dinner tables. The above—mentioned ideas suggest that we all have an opportunity to participate in these debates in one way or another. When the debates are over and civil rights protections for all lesbian and gay Americans are attained it will have been worth the wait.
