VT AIDS Project Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Michael Cunningham will read 2 selections from his works following a gourmet dinner on Friday, ' October 1 at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center to benefit the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont. Cunningham, whose novel The Hours won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, will offer insights into his craft, including. a Q&A opportunity, and sign copies of his books. According to Vanity Fair “Michael Cunningham dazzles in his inspired novel The Hours...” and USA Today calls his latest success “a smashing literary tour de force” that will “make you jump up from the sofa and look at life and literature in new ways...” His novel A Home at the End of the World was published in 1990 to wide acclaim and was fol- lowed by Flesh and Blood in 1995. His work has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, Redbook, Esquire, The Paris Review, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Metropolitan. As part of this special evening, guests will be able to view a major exhibition of Andy Warhol’s work from the private col- lection of Jon Gould. Jon Gould was Andy Warhol's companion in the early 1980s. Before he died of AIDS in 1986, Gould amassed a large collection of Warhol’s work. This show will include artwork that has never before been on public view. The Brattleboro Museum - is offering a one-year museum membership to people attending the Michael Cunningham reading for an additional $20 for an individ- ual membership or $35 for a dual/family membership, reflecting a 50 percent discount on the regu- lar membership rates for the museum!
