Showcase presented by Theatre on a
Shoestring. Theatre on a Shoestring is
seeking incredible singers throughout the
State of Vermont to participate in The
Vermont 2002 Talent Showcase. Theatre
on a Shoestring will accept headshots
and videos from interested individuals
between August 1 and October
1,2002.0ut of the entries,TOAS will
select the best participants.Those cho-
sen will then compete in a two night com-
petition where the first night each con-
testant will sing two songs.The panel of
local celebrity judges will then narrow the
field down.That group of finalists will then
return the following night to perform two
more songs (same or different songs is
the decision of the finalists).The judges
will then choose one winner. The winner
will receive a $500 cash prize. if you want
to shine in front of your peers and the
panel of local celebrity judges, then get
your packet together and send every-

Johnson State College - ANT-4730-J02
Topical Seminar The Politics of Sexual
Orientation. Description:The last two
decades have seen a dramatic rise in
the visibility of those who challenge
existing binary categories of sex (male
and female), gender (masculine and
feminine), and sexual orientation (gay
and straight). We will study the experi-
ences of bisexuals, transsexuals, inter-
sexuals, and others who blur the bound-
aries of gay/straight, male/female, and
masculine/feminine using novels, films,
short stories, essays, guest speakers,
poetry and autobiography. Theoretical
readings will be used to frame our dis-
cussions. The class will met over three
weekends (September 6-8, September
28-30, and October 18-20). The class
size is limited, at present there are‘7
spaces left. People interested in taking
