Description:The last two decades have seen a dramatic rise in the visibility of those who challenge existing binary categories of sex (male and female), gender (masculine and feminine), and sexual orientation (gay and straight). We will study the experi- ences of bisexuals, transsexuals, inter- sexuals, and others who blur the bound- aries of gay/straight, male/female, and masculine/feminine using novels, films, short stories, essays, guest speakers, poetry and autobiography.
