A similar monument is also located in Burlington Vermont's Battery Park. "For gallant and meritorious services" March 13, 1865. Awarded the metal of honor for "most distinguished gallantry at Gettysburg" July 3, 1863. Native Vermonter, born in Waterbury, Vermont.
