Description: December 12, 1942. Hayward Street Looking Northerly from the Intersection of Catherine Street. This view shows Hayward Street looking northerly from the Catherine Street after the binder course of asphalt penetration macadam had been completed and the 2 inch asphalt hot plant mix wearing surface was being constructed. Note the date of this picture, Dec. 12, which is probably the latest date at which asphalt pavement construction of this type has ever been attempted in Vermont.
