Description
City of Burlington, Vermont, Street Department Municipal Airport. This view taken March 7, 1945, shows all the Municipally owned buildings including:- Hangar, metal 60' X 80' Hangar, wooden 80' X 100' Administration Building, concrete cinder block with stucco surface, housing the offices of the Colonial Airlines, North East Airlines, U.S. Weather Bureau, U.S. Customs, U.S. Immigration, Civil Aeronautics Association Instrument room; Traffic Tower, wooden, erected by the C.A.A in connection with the operating of the Student Army Air Corps Flight School. The hard surface taxi-area in front of the buildings was constructed with American Bitumuls Stabilized Base and Bitumuls Emulsion Penetration Armor Coat. This work was completed in 1935 and retreated in 1939.
